The bookmarking tool was called “Kitabu”, which is Swahili and means book. The word is derived from Arabic kitāb "book". In Arabic it is pronounced Kitæb and in Persian (Farsi), where it also exists, it is pronounced Kita:b.
In Urdu it is called Kitab as well...
