1 BACKGROUND ON CTA
The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) (www.cta.int) was established in 1983 under the Lomé Convention between the ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) Group of States and the European Union Member States and confirmed by the Cotonou Agreement in 2000. CTA's tasks are to develop and provide services that improve access to information for agricultural and rural development, and to strengthen the capacity of ACP countries to produce, acquire, exchange and utilise information in this area.

The hotel is within walking distance (ten minutes) of the main shopping street, restaurants and cafés. Shops usually open at 9.00 Monday - Saturday and close at 18.00. All shops are closed on Sundays.
3 TRANSPORT IN GERMANY
•At Cologne/Bonn Airport, proceed to the bus station in front of terminal 2, take bus no. 670 to Bonn Central station (Bonn Hbf).
You should purchase a one-way ticket for 8,50€. This includes the complete bus and tube (underground) ride from the Airport in Cologne to Koenigswinter (the city of your final destination). The sum of 8,50€ is a combination of a Regio ticket price level 4 (Preistufe 4 - 6,30€) plus a surcharge for the express bus service (Schnellbuszuschlag - 2,20€).
The bus takes about 27 minutes to cover the distance to Bonn Central Station (“Bonn Hauptbahnhof”), it is the last station.
At Bonn Central station, please take tube (underground) no. 66 direction “Bad Honnef”, and follow the signs “U-Bahn”, which lead you down the stairs. You don’t have to purchase a new ticket.
Tube (underground) 66 takes you to the station “Koenigswinter Faehre/Sea Life Aquarium” in about 30 minutes.
(A taxi from the Central Station Bonn to the hotel will be around 20€).
From “Koenigswinter Faehre/Sea Life Aquarium” you walk back in the direction the tube/tram came from. The street you are on is called “Rheinallee”.
After approximately 400 m, you will find “Rheinhotel Loreley” on the right.
•From Frankfurt Airport, you should take the train, i.e. the InterCity (IC) or InterCityExpress (ICE), to Bonn Central Station. The train takes 1hr 50 mins to Bonn and costs approx. 35€. Please purchase a ticket at one of the DB Travel Centres or Service Points., if you don’t already have one.
The long-distance railway station is at the AIRail Terminal, next to Terminal 1. Trains arrive and depart from platforms 4 to 7. The railway station is linked to Terminal 2 via buses and the Sky Line.
This is how to get there:
From the platform (Level 0, Area B), go one floor up, following signs to Terminal 2. When you are in Area B or C, get on a free Shuttle Bus to Terminal 2. The service runs between 05:00 and 03:00 hrs (5am to 3am). Alternatively, you can follow signs to the Sky Line in Hall B. This service to Terminal 2 runs every 2 minutes.
DB Travel Centres "Below the Airport"
These Travel Centres provide travel details and take bookings. This is where you can buy long-distance rail tickets. One Travel Centre is located at Terminal 1, Level 0, in Hall B, and the other directly at the AIRail Terminal, Level 3.

The DB Service Point "Below the Airport"
In addition to the DB Travel Center and the RMV Mobility Center, information can also be obtained at the DB Service Point. This is where you get brief details of trains, timetables and delays as well as information about the City of Frankfurt,
hotels and local transport in general. The DB Service Point is at Terminal 1, Level 0, in Hall B. Opening hours: Daily, 24 hrs.

•At Bonn Central Station, you should take tram no.66, as described above.
5 MEETING VENUE
The meeting will start every morning at 09:00 hours. The seminar rooms are located at the hotel.
6 REGISTRATION
Registration at the hotel will take place on October 29 from 08.30 to 09.00 hours
7 MEALS
Breakfast is included in the price of the hotel room. Lunches will be provided by CTA on Monday 29, Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31. Evening meal will be provided by CTA on Monday 29. Please advise us if you have any special dietary requirements.
8 INSURANCE
You will be covered by a medical insurance for accident and emergency during the period of the conference.
9 DRESS
There is no formal dress code for the meeting. Please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Because the weather is very changeable in Germany, it would be advisable to bring some warm clothing and an outdoor jacket. You also might like to take along a survival package (toothbrush, change of clothes etc.) in your hand luggage, as there have been cases of lost or delayed luggage in the past. Please be informed that due to security regulations, there are restrictions in terms of the quantity of fluids you may carry on board your flight in your hand luggage.
10 CURRENCY
The German unit of currency is the Euro. This is divided into 100 cents. The abbreviation for a Euro is €. Coins at present in use are €2, €1, 50 €cents, 20 €cents, 10 €cents, 5 €cents, 2 €cents; 1 €cents. Bank notes are available in denominations of €500, €200, €100, €50, €20, €10 and €5. Please note that most businesses will not accept bills larger than €100.
11 ELECTRIC CURRENT
The voltage in Germany is 230V with continental 2-pin plugs.
